Dr. Erin Smielewski recently joined Foot First Podiatry II to partner with Dr. Michael Warheit in offering compassionate, conservative and surgical Podiatric care in the Buffalo Grove location.

Dr. Smielewski exhausts conservative care before offering surgery, and encompasses a holistic approaches as well. She is trained in all aspects of foot and ankle care from pediatrics to geriatrics. Her special interests include, but are not limited to bunions, hammertoes, diabetic foot care, heel pain, ingrown toenails, nail care, calluses and warts. She believes quality patient care begins with strong active listening and communication with her patients. This promotes excellent diagnostic skills that allow Dr. Smielewski to provide patient-specific treatment plans based on personal need, age, lifestyle, occupation and limitations.

Born and raised in southwest suburbs of Illinois, Dr. Erin Smielewski earned her Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University with honors. She earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland Ohio. She then completed her surgical residency training at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago Illinois; where she was chief resident in her 3rd year of training. Dr. Smielewski is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine; and board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Smielewski is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine.

Beyond her patient responsibilities she enjoys pure barre and spending time with her husband and three sons in the northwest suburbs.

She is seeing patients in the Buffalo Grove Office and is accepting new patients.
